Finding Cheviot House
Check-in
Check-in is from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. If you expect to arrive outside these hours, please let us know in advance — we'll do our best to accommodate late arrivals with a key-safe arrangement.
Parking
Free on-street parking is available directly outside the house and along the surrounding streets. A small public car park sits a two-minute walk away on Burn Lane for overflow.

What to expect
You'll be greeted at the door and shown to your room, the breakfast room, and the garden. Tea, coffee and fresh biscuits are laid out in your room on arrival. Towels and toiletries are provided.
St Cuthbert's Way
St Cuthbert's Way is a 100km (62-mile) long-distance footpath linking Melrose in the Scottish Borders to Holy Island (Lindisfarne) on the Northumberland coast. Wooler sits roughly at the midpoint — an ideal overnight stop on the classic 4–6 day itinerary.

Tide Times
The Holy Island causeway is crossed at low tide only. Always check the safe crossing times at the causeway or online before setting off from Fenwick.
Packing
Bring waterproofs, broken-in boots, and layers — Northumberland weather changes quickly. A small first-aid kit and blister plasters are worth their weight.
Baggage Transfer
Several local companies offer bag-carrying between stages. Ask us — we can recommend a reliable transfer service for the Wooler leg.
Walking to Holy Island
The final stage includes the Pilgrim's Path across the sands — a remarkable experience but only safe within the published low-tide window. Never attempt the crossing outside these times. Tide tables are posted at the causeway entrance and online at holyislandcrossingtimes.com.

Breakfast
Breakfast is served in the dining room from 7:30am to 9:00am (8:30–9:30 on Sundays). Pre-order the night before using the breakfast form at your bedside, or order online via thebreakfast page.
Wi-Fi
Complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the house. The network and password are on the card in your room.
Drying Room
A dedicated drying room is available for walkers — boots and waterproofs overnight, ready for the morning. Ask us to switch it on when you arrive.
Quiet Hours
We observe quiet hours from 10:00pm to 7:00am out of respect for all guests, many of whom are early risers on the trail.
